Electric Vehicle Safety Training for First Responders

This Electric Vehicle Safety Training coursework provides emergency responders with important information necessary to respond to emergency situations involving electric and hybrid vehicles now on the road. This program was provided by the National Fire Protection Association and funded by a 4.4 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.

The project is part of the DOE’s overarching goal of increasing the number of electric vehicles on the road. Crucial to the public’s acceptance of these vehicles is the understanding that emergency responders are knowledgeable of the information needed when an emergency incident is encountered.
